Afrikaans 1983/1992 - Verwysingsbybel
On July 5, 1968 during a seminar for translators a unanimous decision was made to begin a new translation of the scriptures into Afrikaans. This translation should take into account the development of English and as closely as possible to the Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic source texts translated. The translation was completed on December 2, 1983 in Cape Town. The translation is more meaning-based.
indigenous to Principally Pretoria and Bloemfontein. Cape Malays mainly in Cape Town; some in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, and Port Elizabeth. Also in Australia, Botswana, Canada, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, New Zealand, Swaziland, United States, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
