Ayta Abellen New Testament (ABPWBT)
Overview
The Ayta Abellen New Testament was completed in 2020 by Wycliffe Bible Translators. The translation was led by Roger and Vangie Stone, Wycliffe/SIL missionaries who have worked with Ayta language groups in the Philippines since 2008. [1] Roger Stone coordinated translation for the "Ayta Cluster project" covering multiple related Ayta languages, working with committees of mother-tongue translators from the Ayta Abellen community. [1] The Ayta Abellen people, believed to be among the earliest inhabitants of the Philippines, live primarily in Tarlac province on Luzon. Many speakers were displaced from their mountain homes by the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991.
