Ambulas Wosera New Testament (ABTWWT)

Overview

The New Testament in the Wosera-Kamu dialect of the Ambulas language of Papua New Guinea, published in 1996 by The Bible League (South Holland, Illinois) in partnership with Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. The Wosera are the most prominent subgroup of the Abelam people, named after the area they inhabit in the southern portion of Ambulas-speaking territory in East Sepik Province. [1] The Wosera-Kamu dialect is linguistically distinct enough from the northern Maprik dialect that a separate translation was warranted. [1] The vernacular title Gotna Kundi is the Wosera-Kamu rendering of "Good News," paralleling the Maprik Gotna Kudi (1983). [2] The 956-page printed edition (ISBN 9780868933559) was made available through The Bible League and represents the second distinct Ambulas-dialect New Testament, following the Maprik translation by thirteen years. [3] Audio recordings of the Wosera-Kamu Scripture are also available through Global Recordings Network. [4]
