Anaang is closely related to Ibibio and is spoken by approximately 3 million people in northwestern Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Christianity reached the Anaang people via the Qua Iboe Mission, founded by Irish Presbyterian missionary Samuel Alexander Bill in 1887.
