Ata Manobo New Testament (ATDWBT)

Overview

The Ata Manobo New Testament (2000), titled Kasulatan to Magboboot, is a translation into Ata Manobo (also called Ata of Davao or Langilan), a Manobo language of the Philippines spoken by an estimated 22,700 people. [1] The Ata Manobo people are indigenous to the Davao region of Mindanao, particularly the Paquibato and Marilog districts of Davao City and parts of Davao del Norte and North Cotabato. [2] The translation was produced through Wycliffe Bible Translators and SIL International, whose affiliated Philippines branch (SIL Philippines) has conducted linguistic and translation work among Manobo-speaking communities in Mindanao; SIL began work among the related Cotabato Manobo as early as 1955. [2] This was the first Scripture translation in the Ata Manobo language.
