Aushi Bible Translation (AUHABT)

Overview

The Aushi Bible Translation (ABT) was produced by The Word for the World International and represents the first written literature in the Aushi language. New Testament portions — including Matthew, 2 Thessalonians, and James — were publicly celebrated in Mansa, Zambia, in 2022.

A separate church-owned translation (Regular Bible) produced through Wycliffe Associates' MAST methodology is also available via the Bible in Every Language portal.

Language and People

Aushi (ISO 639-3: auh), also known as Iciaushi, is a Bantu language spoken primarily in Luapula Province, Zambia, with additional speakers in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Approximately 220,000 speakers in Zambia.
