Anuki Bible Portions (AUIWBT)

Overview

Portions of the Holy Bible in the Anuki language of Papua New Guinea, published in 2010 under the vernacular title Buk Baibel long Anuki by Wycliffe Bible Translators (copyright 2010–2016). [1] Anuki (also called Gabobora) is an Austronesian language spoken by approximately 800 people along the north coast of Cape Vogel in Milne Bay Province. [2] Translation work began around 2006 through the VITAL (Vernacular Initiative for Translation and Literacy) programme, a multi-language project launched in 2005 to serve communities of Milne Bay Province, with SIL-PNG providing consultant support; early completed texts included Genesis chapters 1–11 and the complete Gospel of Mark. [3]

Language and People
