Northern Bobo Madaré 1981 Edition (BBOBSB)
Overview
The Northern Bobo Madare 1981 Edition is a New Testament in the Northern Bobo Madare language (also known as Konabere), published by the United Bible Societies in 1981. [1] Northern Bobo Madare is spoken by approximately 60,000 people in northwestern Burkina Faso, in the area around the town of Kouka. [2] The language belongs to the Mande language family and is distinct from Southern Bobo Madare, with limited mutual intelligibility between the two varieties. [2] This New Testament was produced as part of broader Bible translation efforts across Burkina Faso, where multiple Bobo dialects have received separate Scripture translations due to their linguistic differences.
