Overview
This translation contains Bible portions in Southern Balochi (also known as Makrani), published by Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. (copyright 2016–2019). Southern Balochi is the principal variety of Balochi spoken in the Makran coastal region of Balochistan in Pakistan and Iran, as well as by Baloch diaspora communities in Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and other Gulf states, with approximately 3.5 million speakers in Pakistan alone. [1][2] The language is written in the Arabic-Perso (Nastaliq) script and belongs to the Northwestern Iranian branch of the Indo-European family. [3] The portions include the Gospels, Acts, and selected epistles. [4]
