New Testament audio recording in the Bhogoto (Bokoto) language, a Gbaya language spoken by approximately 175,000–196,000 people across western Central African Republic. Published by ACATBA (Association Centrafricaine pour la Traduction de la Bible et l'Alphabétisation), an organization founded in 1993 by 14 evangelical denominations and headquartered in Bangui. The translation project spanned over 15 years. The Gospel of Luke was the first book completed in December 2011, checked by Catholic, Apostolic, and Protestant "Cooperation" church congregations who served as volunteer translators and checkers. The printed New Testament and Psalms physically arrived in the Central African Republic in September 2025. Old Testament translation began in 2022 at the request of Bhogoto churches, with over 70% of OT books drafted by early 2026 — Genesis has been printed and recorded, Ruth, Jonah, and Esther are ready for publication, and full OT completion is projected around 2029–2033.
