Bengali Revised Version (BENOBB)

Overview

The Open Bengali Bible (2017) is a modern Bengali translation of the complete Bible, published by Bridge Connectivity Solutions Pvt. Ltd. under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. [1] It is part of the Indian Revised Version (IRV) family of translations, which aims to provide freely distributable Scripture texts in major Indian languages. [2] Bengali has a long history of Bible translation stretching back to William Carey, who published the first Bengali New Testament in 1801 at Serampore. [3] The Open Bengali Bible represents a continuation of that tradition in modern, accessible form, designed for broad digital distribution.
