The Old Version in Bhojpuri (BHOOVV)
Overview
Bhojpuri is spoken by approximately 50 million people across Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Nepal's Terai regions. It is one of the most widely spoken languages in the Indo-Gangetic plain, with a rich tradition of folk music and oral storytelling. The community's literacy rate is around 30%, and agriculture is the dominant occupation.
This 1998 publication represents one of the earlier complete translations of the New Testament into Bhojpuri. It preceded the revised edition (BHOROV, 2007) and the IBT India / Bible Society of India New Testament (BHOAPI, 2007).
