Binukid New Testament (BKDWBT)
Overview
The Binukid (also spelled Binokid or Bukidnon Manobo) are an indigenous people of northern and central Mindanao in the southern Philippines, with the language spoken by the Bukidnon, Talaandig, Higaonon, and Banwaon subgroups across Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Oriental, and Agusan provinces. [1] Binukid belongs to the Northern Manobo branch of Philippine Malayo-Polynesian languages, classified alongside Kinamigin (of Camiguin Island) and Cagayano (of Cagayancillo Island) in the linguist Richard Elkins' model of Manobo language relationships. [2] The vernacular title "Lalang hu Dios" (Word of God) was produced by Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. and published in 1986. [3] The translation is now accessible through YouVersion, a ScriptureEarth mobile app, and eBible.org. [3]
