Somba-Siawari Bible (BMUPNG)
Overview
The New Testament and portions of the Old Testament in the Somba-Siawari language of Papua New Guinea, also called the Burum-Mindik language. The original translation was completed in 1992 by Wycliffe Bible Translators and published by the Bible Society of Papua New Guinea, with a revised edition following in 2002. [1] The text is titled Sampela hap Buk Baibel long tokples Burum Mindik long Niugini and is distributed under a Creative Commons license. [1]
Language and People
Somba-Siawari (ISO 639-3: bmu), also known as Burum-Mindik, is a Papuan language spoken in Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. The language has two principal dialects, Somba and Siawari, from which it takes its name. [2] It is spoken by approximately 10,000 people in Papua New Guinea, Map 11. [Glottolog: buru1306]
