Baeggu New Testament (BVDWBT)

Overview

The New Testament in the Baeggu language of the Solomon Islands, published in 2016 by Wycliffe Bible Translators through SITAG (Solomon Islands Translation Advisory Group). Baeggu (also called Baegu or Mbaenggu) is a Southeast Solomonic, Central-North Malaitan language spoken by approximately 5,900 people on the northern coast of Malaita Island, closely related to Baelelea, To'abaita, and Fataleka. [1] [2] SITAG, the local partner of Wycliffe and SIL International, was established in 1978 and operates by placing translation family teams in provincial communities where they can learn the language and train national translation partners. [3] The vernacular title of the New Testament is "Na Alangaia Falu 'ana Baea 'i Baeguu." The text is made available under a Creative Commons Attribution-No Derivatives 4.0 license. [4]
