Bwile Bible Translation (BWCEBL)

Overview

The Bwile Bible Translation is a Scripture translation in the Bwile language, spoken near Lake Mweru in northern Zambia close to the DRC border. The translation was championed by Pastor Kaweme Precious, who lives in the small fishing village of Chiengi and opened his church and personal resources to the translation team. [1] The Bwile project is one of The Word for the World's Zambian translation projects. The community developed a strong desire for a mother-tongue Bible, as many still perceived God as a foreign deity. [2]
