Eastern Kaqchikel New Testament (CAKWBTKE)

Overview

The Eastern Kaqchikel New Testament (Ri Dios Nch'o Pa Kach'abül Cheke'), published by Wycliffe Bible Translators in 2012, is a translation of the New Testament in the Eastern (Oriental) dialect of Kaqchikel, spoken in the eastern part of the Kaqchikel-speaking highland zone of Guatemala. Kaqchikel is a Mayan language of the Quichean-Mamean branch with approximately 1,070,000 speakers across central Guatemala. [1] This edition is part of Wycliffe's sustained effort to produce dialect-specific Kaqchikel translations, building on decades of translation work that began with Cameron Townsend's foundational 1931 Kaqchikel New Testament.
