Overview

The Chakma 2012 Edition is a New Testament translation in the Chakma language, published by Bibles International in 2012. This translation uses the Latin script rather than the traditional Chakma script (Ojhopath), an abugida historically used by the Chakma people of the Chittagong Hill Tracts in southeastern Bangladesh. [1] The Chakma language is an Eastern Indo-Aryan language closely related to Bengali, spoken by several hundred thousand people in Bangladesh and northeastern India. [2] Bibles International is the Bible translation and publishing department of Baptist Mid-Missions.
