Czech NBK New Testament (CESNKB)

Overview

The Czech NBK New Testament (Nová Bible kralická) was first published in 1998 in an edition of 10,000 copies. [1] The translation was done by Alexandr Flek with the assistance of Pavel Hoffmann between 1994 and 1998. [1] The project aimed to preserve the spirit of the original Kralice Bible (1579-1613) while providing a modern Czech text translated from the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. [1] A substantially revised edition was released in 2004, with Zdeněk Sýkora contributing to the revision. [1] The project later evolved into Bible21 (Bible, překlad 21. století), with the complete Bible published in 2009 including Old Testament work by Jiří Hedánek and deuterocanonical books by Jiří Pavlík.
