Emberá-Chamí NT (CMIWBT)

Overview

The Embera-Chami New Testament, titled "Dachi Akore Bed̶ea" in the vernacular, is a translation into the Chami language of Colombia, published in 2021 by Wycliffe Bible Translators. The translation was a collaborative effort of Embera people from many Chami communities across various departments of Colombia, administered by the Foundation for the Development of Marginalized Peoples (Fundacion para el Desarrollo de los Pueblos Marginados) in Bogota. [1] The translators sought to communicate meaning in a natural and clear way following grammatical patterns in the language, preferring native terms over Spanish loanwords to preserve language vitality.
