Coptic Sahidic New Testament (COPSHC)
Overview
Sahidica is a new critical edition of the New Testament in Sahidic Coptic, prepared by J. Warren Wells (1951-2021) and published in 2000 with revisions through 2006. [1][2] Wells, an American scholar with over 30 years of Greek and 20 years of Coptic studies, collated three electronic sources: the Coptic NT edited by David Brakke (PHI-CD 5.3, 1991), the St. Shenouda the Archimandrite Coptic Society CD (1998), and multiple printed Coptic manuscripts dating from the 3rd century onward. [1] The edition also builds upon George Horner's seven-volume printed edition of the Sahidic NT. [1] It features standardized spelling, expanded Nomina Sacra, and is designed for side-by-side comparison with the Greek New Testament. [1]
