Desano 1984 Edition (DESWBT)

Overview

The initial draft of the Desano New Testament was done by a young man who grew up in a two language household, his father spoke Desano and his mother spoke Guanano. His translation would serve as the basis for the Desano New Testament. The project wasn’t without difficulties, in August 1975, a Desano village ousted the translators. After pressure from the local Catholic mission. After relocating and restablishing the translation project continued despite trials throughout the translation process and would be completed in 1984.
