Dagaari Dioula (also called Dagaari Jula, Dagari Dyoula, Wala, or Yari, ISO 639-3: dgd) is a Gur language spoken by approximately 43,000 people in southwestern Burkina Faso, in areas including Diébougou, To, Boromo, and the French Hamele region. It is a variety significantly influenced by the unrelated Dioula trade language. The Association Nationale pour la Traduction de la Bible et Alphabétisation (ANTBA) is the primary Scripture translation body in Burkina Faso, affiliated with the Wycliffe Global Alliance, and is currently engaged in translating the Word of God into 18 languages across the country. ANTBA produced these audio Scripture portions for Dagaari Dioula speakers, covering Genesis, Exodus, Mark, Luke, and Acts — giving listeners access to foundational Old Testament narratives alongside core New Testament Gospel content. The Dagaari Dioula people are classified as unreached by evangelical Christianity, with fewer than 2% identifying as evangelical Christians. The Global Recordings Network also maintains audio evangelism resources in this language. This set of Scripture portions represents the primary audio Bible resource available for this community and is an important foundation for future translation and church growth work.
