The Dot language of Bauchi State, Nigeria — known by its speakers as Zumbul — is a small Chadic language with a tightly-knit community. Its speakers share an ISO code (dot) with the closely related Baraza dialect, reflecting the linguistic continuum of the Dur-Zumbul-Baraza cluster. Language Developers and Bible Translators (LDBT) Association, headquartered in Bauchi, has championed scripture access for Nigeria's endangered and minority languages since the mid-2000s. Working through oral Bible translation methods suited to low-literacy communities, LDBT produced an audio New Testament for the Zumbul dialect, making this recording — — the first sustained scripture engagement tool available to Zumbul speakers.
