Baraza is a dialect of the Dot (Dur) language cluster of Bauchi State, Nigeria, sharing an ISO code (dot) with the neighbouring Zumbul and Dur speech varieties. The Language Developers and Bible Translators (LDBT) Association in Bauchi explicitly included Baraza among its language-development programmes alongside Buli, Ribina, Tala, and Zakshi during workshops organized from 2017 onward, training community members in oral Bible storytelling and oral translation methods. The resulting Baraza audio New Testament, hosted through Faith Comes By Hearing's Bible.is platform, is designed for the largely oral Baraza-speaking community and represents a direct output of LDBT's church-centred translation approach in northern Nigeria.
