Dawawa New Testament (DWWTBL)

Overview

The Dawawa New Testament, titled Vari Verenama, is a translation of the New Testament into the Dawawa language, an Austronesian language spoken in the Rabaraba district of Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea [1][2]. The translation was completed by Wycliffe Bible Translators and published by Bible League International in 2002 [3]. Scripture portions in Dawawa had been available since 1991-1992 prior to the full New Testament's completion [1]. The Dawawa people number approximately 6,700 and are predominantly Christian, with the community located west and inland from Wedau in Milne Bay Province [1].
