First Book of Adam and Eve (ENGFBE)
Overview
The First Book of Adam and Eve (also known as "The Conflict of Adam and Eve with Satan") is a 6th-century Christian extracanonical work. The original was in Syriac, related to the "Cave of Treasures" tradition, and was subsequently translated into Arabic and then Ethiopic (Ge'ez). [1] The English translation was produced by Dr. S.C. Malan (from German) and Dr. Ernest Trumpp (from Arabic and Ethiopic originals) in the late 19th century. [1] It was published in "The Forgotten Books of Eden" (1927, The World Publishing Company). This collection also includes the Second Book of Adam and Eve, Secrets of Enoch, Psalms of Solomon, Odes, and other pseudepigraphal texts. The text is in the public domain.
