Enuani is an Igbo dialect spoken by the Igbo-Anioma people of Delta State, Nigeria — sometimes called Enu-Onitsha Igbo. While standard Igbo (ibo) has had a Bible since the colonial era, the distinct phonology and vocabulary of Enuani mean that standard Igbo scripture does not fully serve Enuani speakers. In 2021, Mission for Language Translation completed a New Testament for this community, bringing Enuani speakers their first dedicated scripture resource. The project reflects a broader movement of dialect-specific translation work in the Niger Delta region, where large language clusters often mask smaller communities with genuine access needs. The recording is available as audio through Faith Comes By Hearing's Bible.is platform.
