New Testament in the Fataleka (FARWBT)

Overview

The Fataleka New Testament was completed in 2016–2017 by Wycliffe Bible Translators, working through SITAG (Solomon Islands Translation Advisory Group). [1] Fataleka is spoken by approximately 6,700 people on the island of Malaita in the Solomon Islands. The translators used the Adapt-It computer program, leveraging the closely related Kwara'ae language (which already had a completed New Testament) as a reference for drafting. [1] The Fataleka New Testament was placed in the Solomon Islands National Parliament's permanent Bible display, which showcases Bible translations completed since the country's independence in 1978.
