Fulfulde Burkina New Testament (FUHSIM)

Overview

The Fulfulde Burkina New Testament is a translation of the New Testament into Western Niger Fulfulde for the approximately 1.5 million Fulani speakers in Burkina Faso. [1] Translation work began in the 1980s, with the first gospel published in 1985, and the complete New Testament was delivered in January 2013. [1] The project was a collaboration between SIM and ASAREN (Association des Assemblées de la Réconciliation et de la Nouvelle Naissance), with a network of translators working over more than thirty years. [1] John Croyce, a teacher at the Gorom Biblical School, and Remy Moret, an ASAREN missionary in Burkina Faso, were among those involved in the project. [1] An Arabic-script (Ajami) edition of the translation has also been produced to reach literate Fulani who read Arabic script. [2]
