Overview

Scripture portions in the Glavda language of northeastern Nigeria, produced by the Luke Initiative for Scripture Translation (LIST). [1] LIST is a non-denominational Bible translation organization that grew out of the Luke Partnership program, which began in Nigeria in June 2004; the organization was formally registered under its current name in 2014. [2] The Glavda portions are available digitally through YouVersion (Bible.com). [1]

Language and People

Glavda (ISO 639-3: glw) is spoken by approximately 31,300 people in Borno State, Nigeria and the Far North Province of Cameroon. The language belongs to the Afro-Asiatic family and is also known as Galavda, Gelebda, or Galvaxdaxa. [Glottolog: glav1244]
