Huichol Bible (HCHATNT)

Overview

The Huichol Bible contains Scripture in the Huichol (Wixárika) language, a Uto-Aztecan language of west-central Mexico. The New Testament was published in 1967, translated by Joseph E. Grimes and Barbara Grimes of SIL / Wycliffe Bible Translators, working with local Huichol speakers. [1] SIL has been documenting Huichol since the 1940s; Joseph Grimes published "Translation Procedure in Huichol" (1957, United Bible Societies) and "Vocabulario Huichol-castellano" (1954). [1] Barbara Grimes continued work on Old Testament translation in her later years. [2]
