Hmongdon Bible — The Hmong Don Bible
Overview
The complete Bible in Hmong Don (Hmong Dô) was published in 2022 by the Vietnam Bible Society (Thánh Kinh Hội Việt Nam), a member of the United Bible Societies. The translation is copyright dated 2017 (when the translation work was substantially complete) and the full Bible was completed by 2022. It is accessible online via the Vietnam Bible Society's dedicated reader at vietnamese.bible/hmongdonbible/.
Note: Hmong Don (hmf) should not be confused with Hmong Daw / White Hmong (mww), a separate and much larger language. The 2022 Hmong Daw Bible (Vajluskub, also published by Vietnam Bible Society) received wider press attention; this Hmong Don Bible is a distinct and lower-profile translation for a smaller language community.
Language and People
Hmong Don (ISO 639-3: hmf), also written "Hmong Dô," is a Hmongic language spoken in Ha Giang province (Dong Van and Meo Vae districts) and Lao Cai Province (Bac Ha district) of northern Vietnam. Joshua Project classifies it as a significantly reached language. It is distinct from Hmong Daw (mww) despite similar names.
