Croatian Easy-to-Read Version (HRVERV)
Overview
The Croatian Easy-to-Read Version, known in Croatian as Biblija: suvremeni hrvatski prijevod (SHP, "Bible: Contemporary Croatian Translation"), is a New Testament translation published by Bible League International in 2002. [1] It is part of the Easy-to-Read Version (ERV) series, a line of translations produced by the World Bible Translation Center (now Bible League International) that aims to communicate the meaning of the original biblical texts in clear, everyday language accessible to new readers and those unfamiliar with traditional biblical vocabulary. [2] The ERV translation philosophy renders meaning rather than following a word-for-word approach, using simple sentence structures and modern vocabulary. [2] The Croatian edition uses the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (1984) for the Old Testament and the UBS Greek New Testament (4th revised edition, 1993) and Nestle-Aland 27th edition for the New Testament.
