Hungarian Easy to Read New Testament (HUNERV)

Overview

The Hungarian Easy to Read Bible, known in Hungarian as Biblia: Egyszerű fordítás (EFO), is a translation produced through cooperation between Bible League International and the World Bible Translation Center. [1] The complete Easy-to-Read New Testament first appeared in Hungarian in 2003, with the full Bible (including the Old Testament) published subsequently. [1] The translation aims to convey the meaning of the original biblical text in simple, everyday Hungarian, following the Easy-to-Read Version (ERV) translation philosophy used across more than 30 languages worldwide. [2] The Old Testament is based on the Hebrew Masoretic text from the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (1984 edition), while the New Testament follows the United Bible Societies Greek New Testament (4th revised edition, 1993) and the Nestle-Aland Novum Testamentum Graece (27th edition, 1993).
