Indonesian AYT Bible (INDAYT)

Overview

The Alkitab Yang Terbuka (AYT), meaning "The Open Bible," is an Indonesian Bible translation produced by Yayasan Lembaga SABDA (YLSA). Rather than a fresh translation, AYT is described as a retranslation (terjemahan ulang) based on the original Hebrew and Greek texts, as well as English and Indonesian sources and modern biblical tools. [1] The New Testament was developed between 2010 and 2024, and the Old Testament between 2014 and 2024. [2] The translation follows three guiding principles: faithful to the original languages, clear in expression, and relevant to contemporary Indonesian readers. [1] AYT is released under a Creative Commons license permitting non-commercial use, and is available in multiple digital formats including audio, mobile apps, and web platforms.
