Indonesian New Testament (INDWBT)
Overview
This edition is catalogued as an Indonesian New Testament, published in 2005 with text copyrighted by Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. and distributed by Bible League International. [1] However, the USFM source files identify the content as an Orya language (ISO 639-3: ury) New Testament from Indonesia, not a standard Bahasa Indonesia translation. [2] The vernacular title, Alap mo Ol Ëse, zëre mo zi niban de ol ziaha-en gu hup dena, is consistent with Orya rather than Indonesian. Orya is a Papuan language of the Lakes Plain family spoken in the Papua province of Indonesia by a small community. The "Indonesian" label in the catalogue likely reflects the country of origin rather than the language of the translation text. The translation was prepared by Wycliffe Bible Translators working with the Orya-speaking community in Papua, Indonesia.
