Ixil Nebaj New Testament (IXLWBN)

Overview

The Ixil Nebaj New Testament (vernacular title: U ak' Testamento tu kuyob'al') is a 2008 translation of the New Testament into the Nebaj dialect of Ixil, a Mayan language of the Guatemalan highlands. [1] Ixil has three main dialect varieties corresponding to the towns of Santa Maria Nebaj, San Juan Cotzal, and San Gaspar Chajul, which are largely mutually intelligible but distinct enough that separate translation efforts were undertaken. [2] The Nebaj dialect is the most widely spoken of the three. This translation was produced by Wycliffe Bible Translators in partnership with Liga Biblica Internacional and covers 28 books of the New Testament. [3]
