The Jarawara New Testament and Daniel, titled "Teoso Ka Yama Hani" in the Jarawara language, was completed and published in 2022 by Wycliffe Bible Translators. The Jarawara (also known as Jamamadí) are a small indigenous people of the Amazon region in Amazonas State, Brazil, numbering approximately 170 speakers living in seven villages to the south of the Amazon River. Translation work on the Jarawara New Testament was led by Alan and Lucilia Vogel, who began the project in 1987; the drafting of the New Testament was completed in 2010, with consultant checking continuing through to the 2022 publication. The translation includes the full New Testament as well as the book of Daniel, making it a significant milestone for a small language community that had long awaited Scripture in their own tongue. The text is available through the YouVersion Bible app and a dedicated Jarawara Bible Android app.
