The Nateni New Testament, accompanied by Genesis and Exodus, was translated by Wycliffe Bible Translators for the Nateni (Wama) people of the Atacora Region in northwest Benin. The Nateni, one of the smaller unreached people groups in Benin, number approximately 98,000 speakers. At the Scripture celebration following the New Testament dedication, 2,000 copies were printed and more than half sold immediately — a dramatic demonstration of community hunger for God's Word in their own language. Wycliffe carried out an Old Testament portions project for the Nateni from 2019 to 2022 to expand available Scripture beyond the New Testament. The translation is accessible with combined read, listen, and view functionality, and includes additional video resources from the God's Story Project and Jesus Messiah Media.
