Overview

Kako: Mɛlɛpi mɛ Njambiyɛ Jɔnja Mbon New Testament

The Kako 1999 Edition is a New Testament translation into Kako (also known as Mkako or Mkaka), a Bantu language spoken mainly in Cameroon, with additional speakers in the Central African Republic and the Republic of the Congo [1]. The main population centers of Kako speakers include Batouri and Ndélélé in the East Region of Cameroon [1]. The translation was completed in 1999 by Wycliffe Bible Translators and is available in both print and audio formats [2]. SIL Cameroon has provided linguistic support for the Kako language, including documentation of its alphabet and orthography [3]. The JESUS Film, based on the Gospel of Luke, has also been produced in Kako, and an audio Bible recording is available through Faith Comes By Hearing [4].
