Kurdish Kurmanji Bible (Latin) (KMRIBL)

Overview

The Kurdish Kurmanji Bible in Latin script is produced by the Institute for Bible Translation (IBT). The project began in the early 1980s with an international team of Biblical and Kurdish language specialists. The New Testament was completed and published in 2000, with a revised edition in 2011. [1] Old Testament books were released gradually: Ruth, Esther, and Jonah in 2009; the Pentateuch in 2010; and Psalms and Proverbs in 2016. The first complete Bible in Kurmanji Kurdish was published around 2024. [1] Kurmanji is written in Latin script in Iraq and Turkey; a Cyrillic-script edition (KURIBC) is also available for Kurdish communities in the former Soviet Union. [2]
