Lubuagan Kalinga (KNBWBT)

Overview

The Lubuagan Kalinga Bible, titled Ha Ugud Apudyus, is a New Testament translation produced by Wycliffe Bible Translators in cooperation with the Translators Association of the Philippines [1][2]. Lubuagan Kalinga (ISO 639-3: knb) is spoken by approximately 30,000 to 38,000 people in the municipality of Lubuagan and surrounding areas of Kalinga Province in the Cordillera Administrative Region of northern Luzon, Philippines [3][4]. Earlier Scripture portions were translated between 1970 and 2005, with the complete New Testament finished by 2013 [3]. The language belongs to the Central Cordilleran subgroup of the Austronesian language family and includes multiple dialects such as Ableg-Salegseg, Balatoc, Balbalasang, and Guinaang [3]. SIL International linguists Neri Zamora and E. Lou Hohulin contributed to Lubuagan Kalinga language documentation, including a topical vocabulary published in 1995 [5].
