New Testament and Shorter Old Testament in Mankanya

The Mankanya New Testament and partial Old Testament, titled "Ulibra wi Naşibaţi," is a translation into Mankanya (also known as Mancanha or Mancagne), an Atlantic-Congo language of the Bak branch spoken by approximately 86,000 people across Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, and the Gambia [1][2]. The translation was completed in 2014 by Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. and includes the complete New Testament along with select Old Testament books: Genesis, portions of Exodus, Ruth, and Jonah [3]. SIL has been involved in linguistic work on Mankanya, including the production of literacy materials such as "A Manual For Reading and Writing Mankanya" by Tim Gaved in 2004 [4].
