Tabo Fly River New Testament (KNVPNG)

Overview

The New Testament in the Fly River dialect of the Tabo language of Papua New Guinea, first published in 2006 by the Bible Society of Papua New Guinea and Wycliffe Bible Translators. [1] This is a companion edition to the Aramia River dialect version (KNVARA), covering the same Tabo language but for speakers along the Fly River system in Western Province. The translation was revised in 2023. [1] In September 2024, the Tabo community celebrated the dedication of revised New Testaments in both dialects, with over 900 copies distributed across the community. The Tabo church has grown from no functioning churches in 1988 to nearly 20 local churches. [2] The Tabo people number approximately 10,000 speakers across both dialect areas.
