1992 Good News for All Men (KRINVS)

Overview

"Good News for All Men" is a 1992 edition of the New Testament in the Krio language of Sierra Leone. Krio is an English-based creole language that serves as the lingua franca and de facto national language of Sierra Leone, spoken by approximately 95-98% of the population and uniting the country's diverse ethnic groups. [1] The Bible Society of Sierra Leone conceived the idea for a Krio Bible translation in the 1970s, and Bible translators arrived in Sierra Leone in 1974, initially working part-time. [2] The New Testament was completed in the 1980s, with Lutheran Bible Translators involved in the effort. [3] This 1992 edition represents a subsequent publication of the Krio New Testament. The Old Testament translation continued for decades afterward, culminating in the first complete Krio Bible, Krio Fos Oli Baybul, launched on May 28, 2013 at the National Stadium in Freetown. [2]
