Bible Portions in Uare (KSJWBT)
Overview
The Uare Bible contains the New Testament in the Uare language, also known as Kwale, a Trans-New Guinea language belonging to the Kwalean (Humene-Uare) family spoken in the Rigo Inland area of Central Province, Papua New Guinea [1][2]. The language has two recognized dialects, Garihe (Garia) and Uare proper (Kwale, Kware), and is spoken by the Kwale people [2][3]. Bible portions in Uare were completed between 1994 and 2016, culminating in this New Testament translation copyrighted in 2017 by Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. [3][4]. The translation was produced in cooperation with Global Bible Translators and is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivatives 4.0 license [4].
