The New Testament in Plapo (KTJWBT)

Overview

The New Testament in Plapo Krumen is the first Scripture translation completed in the Plapo dialect of the Krumen language, published in 2003 by Wycliffe Bible Translators [1][2]. Plapo Krumen (also known as Kroumen Plapo or Southwestern Krumen) is a Kru language spoken in the southwest corner of Cote d'Ivoire, in the Bas-Sassandra District [1][3]. The language is part of the broader Krumen language cluster, which includes the related Tepo and Pie dialects, each of which has also received Scripture translations [4]. Joshua Project classifies the Krumen Plapo as a small people group of approximately 200 speakers, with about 61% identifying as Christian [1]. The translation is available through multiple digital platforms including mobile apps that provide both text and audio versions of the New Testament [2][4].
