Western Karaboro Scripture Portions — Samaritan's Purse (KZASPV)
Overview
This Scripture resource for the Western Karaboro language was produced through a partnership involving Samaritan's Purse, the international relief and evangelical mission organization. Samaritan's Purse has been active in Burkina Faso through its Operation Christmas Child program and has partnered with Bible translation efforts to provide Scripture access to unreached communities in West Africa. The Western Karaboro (Syer-Tenyer) people live in the southwestern region of Burkina Faso and represent one of many Gur-speaking communities in the Sahel with limited Bible resources. A Gospel of John in Karaboro has been produced in previous years, and the current resource provides read-and-listen access. Burkina Faso has seen significant translation activity through organizations including ANTBA (Alliance Nationale des Traducteurs Bibliques en Afrique) and affiliated groups working across its many minority languages.
