The Rmeet audio scripture resource produced by Faith Comes By Hearing makes portions of the Bible accessible to the approximately 25,000 Lamet speakers of northwestern Laos. The Lamet, who call themselves Rmeet, are among the original inhabitants of the remote mountain regions of Luang Namtha, Bokeo, and Oudomxai provinces, where they have historically relied on oral tradition. Because no complete New Testament has yet been published in the Rmeet language, audio scripture portions represent a vital first step in bringing God's Word to this community. [1] The language is classified as a Mon-Khmer language of the Austroasiatic family and is spoken by an additional 200 people in Thailand. [2]
